One World London 2019
After the success of the One World shows in Hull for its 2017 City of Culture year, the One World show was performed in London in April & May this year. As ever, Helen recruited a brand new choir to perform the music (the London One World Choir) and singers from the New YVC choir joined the choir for a couple of pieces. One of the unique features of the One World show is the contribution of new spoken word by local artists wherever the show is performed. For the London shows, the spoken word was created and performed by Vanessa Kisuule, Luke Miller & Cheryl Moskowitz. The shows were sell-outs at all venues.

One World Hull 2017
In 2017 Helen brought One World to Hull as part of it’s City of Culture celebrations. The Hull One World Freedom Chorus was recruited specially for this event, performing the show three times at Kardomah 94 theatre and Jubilee Church. Four local poets were commissioned to write for the show, introducing fresh new material with a local perspective: Cassandra Parkin, Jodie Langford, Julie Corbett & Paul Clarke. Gary Hammond (ex Beautiful South, Hut People) played percussion and the shows were compered by Andy Train & Phil White. Supporting guest singers from the Hull Youth Choir completed the line up.
